  • Represented more than 100 victims of a toxic ammonia gas leak from a railroad tank car in the Imperial Valley. Total settlement of $450,000. Many of the victims were minors and continue to receive compensation today.

  • Case 1: Represented the family of a man killed by electrocution. The man had been doing repair work on trailer within a mobile home park. The park owner had negligently failed to properly ground the trailer's electrical system. When the decedent inadvertently drilled through an electric wire, he was electrocuted. Settlement of $450,000 was reached to the benefit of his wife and children.

    Case 2: Represented the family of a woman killed in a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. She was crossing the street within a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a semi-truck. A settlement for the policy limit of $750,000 was reached on behalf of her husband and two sons.

  • With co-counsel represented 28 victims of abuse at a fertility clinic. These women who had their genetic materials (eggs and embryos) stolen during treatment for infertility. The total settlements exceeded 10 million dollars.

  • Represented a young man seriously injured during a skiing accident at a California ski resort. The young man was part of a youth group outing and during that outing he and others were allowed to leave the designated ski runs and build their own 'ski jump.' Our client was a first time skier and during an attempt to complete the jump, suffered a life threatening injury to his neck. We argued the accident occurred because of a failure to properly supervise these young people. After jury selection, the case settled for 1 million dollars.

  • Represented a man who underwent surgery to clear a constriction of his bladder. During surgery the doctor left a wire in our client's bladder. Our client suffered abdominal pain and other complications over a one year period. He finally went to another doctor who ordered x-rays which revealed the retained wire. The wire was removed and our client achieved near complete recovery. The case was successfully settled for a confidential amount.

  • Represented a woman who worked for a state agency and was the victim of discrimination/retaliation. The case was litigated over several years with an ultimate recovery of $300,000.

  • Represented a man seriously injured in a head-on collision. A lawsuit was filed against multiple defendants including the at-fault driver, the State of California (road design issue), the Ford motor company (product liability). A global settlement in excess of $100,000 was obtained.

  • Represented a woman who was a student at a massage therapy school. She suffered a complete tear of her Achilles tendon when she was required to run immediately after receiving a deep tissue massage. She was told to run to demonstrate the performance enhancing benefits of the massage. The case went to trial and resulted in a jury verdict of $86,000.
